Clear Mind, Clear Vision

I live in a small town, that has been dubbed "The Home of Baseball". For baseball nuts you know exactly where I am, for those of you like me who are not baseball nuts I live in Cooperstown. From the outside it looks like a baseball town, when you walk down Main Street there is baseball memorabilia in every store window, with the exception of no more than five stores. The Baseball Hall of Fame is the focal point of this little town for most tourists, and is a constant complaint of the locals who decide to stick around for the immense rush of people during the summer months.

To me Cooperstown is so far from a baseball town, it is my sanctuary, my reawakening, my life.

My childhood memories begin here, the good and the bad. I have the memories of a chubby five year old girl catching crayfish in the creek that ran into the lake. That same creek today is blocked off by a large fence, and rarely has any sort of living organism in it. I have the memories of a seven year old girl scout proudly marching down Main Street holding my flag to honor the vetrans who fought for me. I have memories of ice skating on the creek near my house in the winter and going on long walks, which slowly turned into adventures, with my sisters down the same creek in the summer.

I have the best memories of my mother stored away in this place, and I have memories of what I've considered the hardest time in my childhood life in this place too.

Since I've moved back to Cooperstown it has helped me move past many difficulties over the past two years and with a clear head I have been able to find things that I enjoy.

Photography is one of those things, I think the abilility to take a picture is different than the ability to photograph something. In order to photograph a subject you need to be able to capture the emotion of the subject. I want to be a photographer. So I've begun taking pictures of my sanctuary. I hope to continue with this hobby and maybe one day turn it into my career.

"When your job is something you love, it's not a job." That's my goal.

Here are some of my pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy.
