Not a Real Critic

So I just finished reading the Twilight Saga, yes I read all four books and did so in about five days. Normally I don't like vampires and werewolves and those sorts of fairytale characters in the books I read. I enjoy fiction, but realistic fiction. Having said that, I LOVED these books. I began reading the first in, Twilight, and couldn't put it down. When I finished Twilight I immediately bought the second and so on until I had finished four books in five days.

The author of this book, Stephanie Meyer, does such an amazing job truly convincing you that this could happen to you. Her descriptions and character buildup causes you to yearn for the characters to be real. Personally if I met an Edward on the street I would be ecstatic!

The relationship between Edward and Bella could have gone two different ways, it could have been played down as a teenage love affair and the troubles Bella goes through be the main focus of the book, or the relationship could have been the focal point. The author chose the later.

The attraction between Edward and Bella is so amazing and real. He has this animalistic attraction to her that I could only wish for. My friends and I have all agreed that having a man want to eat you so badly and loving you just as much has to be the most intense relationship. Him being so close to just biting you and ending it all and get instant gratification, but loving you too much to be able to endure a lifetime without you. That's what every man should feel for their woman. I think that's true love. Hating that person as much as you love them...call me crazy but I truly believe a little hate in the realtionship makes it a million times better.

Sadly the Twilight Saga turned into a type of drug addiction for me, and I sped through the books, feigning after I'd finish one no knowing what to do with myself. Now I am stuck with no more books to read pathetically counting down the days until the second movie from the saga comes out. New Moon, will come out this fall and I am hoping to get some gratification from this movie.

But warning to all:
If you have only seen the Twilight movie I strongly suggest you go and buy the book. I don't say this often but the book is truly better than the movie a million times better. You get such a better understanding of all of the characters.

ps: i'm currently reading "I hope they serve beer in hell" by Tucker Max, and I love it. I have never laughed out loud while reading a book as much as I do with this one. I'll let you know my full opinion when I'm finished.
