wild things

I usually do most of my internet information gathering, as I like to call it, late at night. Which would explain why most of my posts are done at an unusual time of day.

So today during my info gathering I found a few interesting things:

-Spike Jonez is making a movie adaptation of "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. This is one of my all time favorite books, and I'm sure I'll be sitting in the movie theatre with tons of little kids watching this. But it's necessary. Maybe I'll go with my mom..since she introduced me to this book...anyway check out the trailer. It's pretty good :)

-If you look me up on google I actually come up as the first result. Which in my life is pretty cool. :)
of course it's for a dating website...which in my life isn't as cool, but I can deal.

-I also spent an hour reading recaps of One Tree Hill. I'm slightly embarassed, but in all honesty if there was Jeopordy for OTH, I'd win. Seriously.

I spent today doing nothing, really doing nothing. I woke up around 10, had a nice drive home, and then did nothing. I have found myself doing that a lot more lately, and catch myself wondering where the past three hours have gone. Today was thankfully not spent watching TV. It was spent sitting on my front porch writing and watching the amazing thunderstorm we had.

Of course at 10 I watched Rescue Me, because lets be honest Denis Leary is amazing. I was a little disappointed with the episode, but that just means it will be fantastic next week...right?

I got an email from a college I applied to...well before I explain the email I'll explain the story.

I filled out the application, wrote my essay and then went to eat dinner. When I came back i filled out my credit card information and hit submit it then took me the sign in page...because I can only assume it timed me out. So I log in and my payment didn't post to my account, but lucky me it posted to my bank account.
So I email them, they tell me to wait three days to make the payment again. Well three days later no posting to my college account, but it's still posted in my bank account. So I tell them I'm not paying again, and to fix it...much nicer though.

Well today I get an email back telling me their still working on the problem. Call me crazy...but isn't this the age of technology. Can't you just look up my confirmation code, and SSN and post the payment to that account? I didn't realize this was a week long ordeal...but what can I expect the only people responding to me are those who sign their emails with "Student Aid" which pretty much means I can't do shit to help you but i'll pretend I can.

Oh technology how I love you.

Summer season has begun here. The bars had quite a few "non-locals" last weekend. Which is good and bad...good because that means new people to meet, abuse, and show a great time to...but it also means no parking, crowded streets, and annoying people who don't want to have a great time. I'm going to opptomistic about this summer though..it should be fun.

Fact of the Day for you ladies: Don't drink water out of water bottles that have been left in the car. The heat causes the plastic bottles to release a chemical that has been linked to breast cancer. Totally not fair...now water can give me cancer? Bullshit.

Here's good news...the War On Terror is over...oh wait no it's not we just aren't calling it that anymore. Does the name really matter? We're still there...I'm not a political major, and I probably know just about as much as you could expect a reality TV junkie to know. But honestly? I'm not sure changing the name changes what it really is...just a thought.

Well I've babbled for long enough tonight...possibly a good night sleep will leave me less cynical tomorrow. Tomorrow is hump day though, and in all honesty those either go awesome or horrible...there's never an in between. Lets hope for awesome.

"inside all of us is...hope
inside all of us is...fear
inside all of us is...advernture
inside all of us is...a wild thing."
--where the wild things are trailer.

Peace and Love.
